Cambodia Trip, 20060928

Just came back from a 4D3N company trip at Cambodia. It's a guided tour to Angkor Wat and some other temple sites. The guide also squeese in a visit to the temple of the overgrown trees that was shown in the movie, Tomb Raider.

As usual, I had some stupid thing to relate for this trip.

It started off with a slight flu when I woke up in the morning of the departure day. And then I miscalculated the time it took me to airport via public transport. My flight was 8.40am and I arrived at the checkin counter at 8.05am. The airport staff initially told me the checkin was closed. But after I mention I can hand carry my luggage, he help me to check with his supervisor. Finally got clearance but he mention no meals.* Well, meals or no meals I'm still going to catch this flight. So he process my boarding pass and is pen written because the system already closed. He then escort me to the security gate personally. After a breeze clearance at the security, I started to double up towards the boarding gate. Phew!

And during the trip, one sad thing happen, my camera went low battery after taking 450+ photos. Strange! I remember charging it fully and in the past, it should at least last me three days. And worst off is I did not bring the charger or get a spare battery. Luckily I manage to take most of the pictures at Angkor Wat, so did not lose much.

Lastly, I came back with the flu and the cough.

All in all, the trip was enjoyable. Seam Reap is a pretty small place, many of the places are still rural. The place is quite safe for you to walk around even in the night. But as tourism is growing, the standard of living also went higher.

Here's the spoils from the trip.

*Later then I realised that another colleague arrived 5 minutes later and was not allow to checkin! Lucky me!
